Inviyed by SendaWelcome, I had the loveliest time running a Makaton session with a great bunch of people – and what a gorgeous setting to spend a morning signing together.
We smelled mint, lavender and rosemary, explored the garden with our senses and learnt and practised lots of Makaton signs and symbols as we went. We planted seeds, watered them and shared I Spy With My Little Eye in the Garden.
And then we finished by signing What a Wonderful World.
Obviously we couldn’t choose between Louis Armstrong and The Ramones, so we did both. 😄
It was one of those sessions where Makaton was simply part of everything we were doing – talking, exploring, reading, planting, singing and having fun together.
And honestly… what a wonderful world it felt like!
